All of our schools have mentor programs in place to help keep students engaged in learning. In 2011, the district launched a new initiative called "Caring Friends," which is mentor program for students in the Central Attendance schools (Carver Heights Elementary, Dillard Middle, Goldsboro High, North Drive Elementary, and School Street Elementary.)
If you are interested in becoming a "Caring Friend" mentor, please complete the Caring Friends Application
and email it to Kim Copeland
, WCPS Director of Middle School Education
. If you are interested in becoming a mentor at a school outside of the Central Attendance area, we can help find the right school for you.
